Maps and
mapping efforts are becoming integral to the oil spill planning, prevention,
and response effort. Geographic information systems (GIS) are replacing
the lists historically integrated into plans by visually incorporating
sensitivity, spill source, and protection strategies onto easy to read,
disseminate, and interpret maps. Links provided on this page are for background/base
maps, data specific to the inland/freshwater environment, data specific
to oil spills, and links to data providers serving information at a scale
usable for the inland planner and responder. |
